Pierogi Fest® returns to 119th Street in downtown Whiting, Indiana, July 23–25, 2027. What started in 1993 as a 50-foot stretch of booths and 1,200 pierogi is now one of the Region’s biggest weekends, just 30 minutes from downtown Chicago.
Come for the pierogi, polka and parade, and stay for the Buscias, Mr. Pierogi and the Lawnmower Brigade. Admission is FREE, rain or shine. Friday & Saturday 11 AM–11 PM · Sunday 11 AM–5 PM.

Polka Parade
Our wacky and wonderful Polka Parade kicks off the weekend, rolling down 119th Street from Forsythe Park to Atchison Avenue. With the famous Lawnmower Brigade and our lovely Buscias, it’s a parody of a “traditional parade” with plenty of Region flair.

When and where is Pierogi Fest®?
July 23–25, 2027 on 119th Street in downtown Whiting, Indiana. Friday & Saturday 11 AM–11 PM, Sunday 11 AM–5 PM.
Is there an admission fee?
No. Admission is free, rain or shine. Bring money for food, drinks and souvenirs.
Where do I park?
Free lots with $5 shuttles, church pay lots and accessible parking. See Parking & Shuttles.
Can I bring my dog or a stroller?
Yes to both. Evenings get very crowded and it can be hot, so plan ahead. Post your pup with #PierogiPups for a chance to be featured.
Can I bring a cooler?
No coolers or outside alcohol. Visit the Beer Garden instead.
How do I become a sponsor?
We’d love to have you. Fill out a sponsor inquiry or call the Chamber at 219-659-0292.
